Devon's Tip

Spring means 'Purge' your unwanted belongings! With an organized home and life, everything feels better. Spend the weekend afternoon with your children and make a game to see who can give more to charity/good will.

Whoever donates more of their unwanted items gets a treat. Then take all of your donated items (that are in good shape) and take a trip to the shelter with your family. See how good it makes you feel to do something good for someone else! It gives you gratitude and a sense of helpfulness in the community.

If you need help with your wellness, be sure to go to DevonFleming.com and click on the Pink Book search for the best resources!

Restore your beautiful self

When the heat is on in the house and the air is cold outside, your skin will be depleted of its natural moisture, leaving your skin feeling tight and dry. If you’re dry, tight and flakey, it means that you have dry skin cell build-up on...read more

Eat Healthy
Feast on Salads for Healthy Living! Mix greens and fruits with protein like grilled chicken, fish, or beans! Greens maximize antioxidants like beta-carotene and vitamins E and C to help lower your risk of heart disease, cancer, and high blood pressure and your risk of stroke and diabetes. Add tuna, salmon or nuts and reap the benefits of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to help protect against heart disease. Norwalk Hospital wants you to have a deliciously fun, healthy summer!
Stay hydrated
Healthy hydration is key. The humidity, activity and temperature might make it difficult for you to gage how much you are sweating. Drink about two cups of fluid two hours before any outdoor activity. Regular water is the best. Some low calorie flavored fitness waters are ok but read your labels and use common sense! Avoid sugary drinks camouflaged by ‘electrolytes’ and dyes. And recycle those bottles. Let’s keep Fairfield County clean and healthy!
Get Outside
Turn off the electronics for better health! For healthy living this summer – and every season…stop screen sitting! TV, Computer or sedentary electronic activities can suck up your time before you know it. Instead…get everybody outside -- including yourself. Do some healthy outdoor chores that involve physical activity – work in the yard, sweep the walks, wash the car or take your family and go for a walk. Take a few garbage bags and pick up litter as you go! Norwalk Hospital wants you to Get Up and Get Out this summer!
