Well....no one can say this year's Super Bowl was a boring game. Congratulations to the Steelers for the big win and "one for the other thumb". Hope you enjoyed the game! Wendy

So I'm wearing one my many Steeler tops today....and it sure gets people talking. (today's top is actully Coast hot pink with the Steelers logo in the middle) I know there are lots of Jets and Giants fans around here....but the Steelers have loyal fans here, there and everywhere! I'm excited to see my hometown team back in the Superbowl this year. Growing up I thought they played in the Superbowl every year....because they did! Even though I don't have a super-duper large screen t-v to watch the game on I'll be enjoying every minute of the victory.

Yours in Black and Gold (and hot pink) Wendy

Yes it is about time for me to update my blog. I paid 1.81 for gas today....so that is still good news. Hope you're finding good news and bargains as you get ready for Christmas.

...and paid $2.14.9.....a reason to be happy

I'm also happy it's baking (and eating) season. I love all the special baking supply displays in the stores this time of year.

I'm also happy that the UBS Parade Spectacular returns to Stamford this Sunday. This parade is full of giant balloons that will lift your spirits and get you ready for the holidays. You can see Tommy Vas on the Coast float. I'll be stationed at the first reviewing stand near the Dairy Queen. Stop by and say hi.

I'm also happy about the Coast Cares food drive. We'll be broadcasting next Tuesday from Palmers Market in Darien. You can make a cash or food donations for the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County.

I'm also happy I get to take a group of listeners to one of my favorite stores for a VIP evening. We'll be visiting Douglas Cosmetics in Westport December 10th. Be listening for your chance to get on the guest list.

I know there's lots of bad news these days....but still lots to be happy about. Wendy

I woke up in Philadelphia today

Yes I did start the day in Philly this morning. I'll tell you why in a second but let me start with quick weekend re-cap . Saturday may have been blustery outside, but I was sunny inside Butterfly Life. Thanks to Dayle for hosting us and giving us a great workout at her beautiful new fitness center for women. The club is in Norwalk at 430 Main Avenue. Like me, you may have passed with without noticing because it's on the upper level of a shopping center across from Merrit Seven. Butterfly Life is one the top level of the center which includes Roly Poly and Brasitas. If you missed the chance to join us Saturday....don't hesitate to stop by on you own and check it out. (Dayle may even give you a 3-day pass).

Good thing I did work out at Butterfly Life on Saturday because Sunday I was off to Philadelphia for Game Four of the World Series! Of course any trip to Philly includes a cheese steak and lots of other goodies. The game was lots of fun and filled with home runs and a big win for the hometown team. The Phillies have a chance to take the series at home with a win tonight against Tampa Bay, or send the series back to Florida for game six Wednesday. Either way baseball season comes to an official end this week. At least New York fans have two new ballparks to look forward to next year. Wendy

All on my list as we look forward to another great weekend...(hey it's never too early to start thinking about the weekend.) First a big thanks to Peter and everyone at the Darien Sport Shop. This past Saturday a group of listeners and I had the chance to enjoy a behind the scenes tour of the store and take advantage of some great deals in the Ski and Snowboard Shop. Patricia Blake was nice enough to provide us with some very tasty treats too. And how about the great clothes I got to wear? Nice.....such a beautiful store. Thanks for hosting us.

This Saturday we're off to Butterfly Life in Norwalk. This is a great new workout club for women. It's right on Main Avenue in Norwalk...upper level of the shopping center with the Roly Poly...across from Merritt Seven. I want you to join me for a tour of the club, a work-out and healthy lunch. We'll get together at 10am....start your day off right! I understand we'll all get three-day passes....and someone could win a month membership! Be listening this week for your chance to get on the guest list....or call me anytime during my show. You know the number....888-845-3010. Wendy

Sad news over the weekend on the passing of Paul Newman. What a treasure to have had him as part of our community. Not you typical movie star. I'm glad I had the chance to see him and Joanne in person if only once. If you have any memories you'd like to share about him please leave a comment.

On another topic....as our politicians continue to dance around our financial mess I've decided to look forward to another round of Dancing With the Stars tonight. I think many of the celebs are doing a really great job so far. I agree with Suzie who commented on Lance Bass. I think he's got a good shot at the disco ball. Brooke, Toni and Warren have also been great. I don't know how much longer Cloris Leachman can count on votes to keep her on the show. I've noticed some online articles encouraging people to vote for her in hopes of having her go really wild with her comments on live t-v. My other t-v note for today....last week's season opener of NCIS was well done. Again please feel welcome to comment of you t-v favorites....or if you have an answer to our economic problems...we;ll accept that too. Wendy

First of all if they expect me to watch every minute of a 3-night season premiere...they're out of luck...but I will watch what I can as Dancing With the Stars returns. I thought Monday night's show was pretty entertaining. The celebs are o-k but I like the judges and hosts the best. There aren't many chances to see live t-v performances....and these guys and gals are quick on their feet! The best dances go to Brooke Burke and Toni Braxton....the early leads by far.Too bad comic Jeffrey Ross was so bad, because he was so funny. Cloris Leachman also gave it her all knowing she probably won't be on very long....unless she gets lots of votes from her fans. TV sure ain't what it used to be but I do find this so-called reality show fun to watch. By the way when did game shows with contestants and prizes become "reality shows"? I'll be watching some of the show again tonight and also keeping an eye on NCIS and Fringe. Please write back with any t-v tips you'd like to share. Wendy
