Hi there,
Yesterday was a big day in our family. I took my daughter who is now 16 years old and has a job to the bank yesterday. It was now time for her to open her own bank account. She open her own savings account and a spending account. She got to choose what style of debit card she wanted and she was very excited. Its a big step for her and I know now she will learn the value of money. One of my first jobs was pumping gas at Ohara's Arco on east Ave in Norwalk many moons ago.I worked everyday afet school for a few hours and all day on Saturday's. It was alot of fun and it helped me be more responsable.I know it will do the same for her.
Have a good day,
Tommy
Hey there,
The Farmers Almanac says this winter is going to be one of the coldest in a long time.Over the summer I have done a couple of things that I hope will keep heating costs down.I have chnaged the weather stripping on all my windows. It really isnt very hard just time consuming.I also noticed that my old thermostat ( the kind with the dial) was not working properly. So I replaced it with a digital thermostat with a timer so I can set a lower temperature at the house when nobody is home. Then when the kids get home from school it will be set to a higher temp to warm the house. Also I cut down a couple of trees in my yard this past spring and have already split the wood.I will be able to burn in the wood burning stove that we have in the house. They are a few low cost things that hopefully will help this winter...How about you?Are doing anything to help cut costs?
I need my new family to show me boundaries and consistent, structured training. I would like to have lots of room to run in a large, high-fenced yard so I can get plenty of exercise. I love to catch a ball, and would enjoy jogging, hiking and the great outdoors. I'm a lot of fun, friendly, and would be a loyal companion.
I would like to be the only pet in my new home and I am neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and weigh 66 pounds.
Yesterday my wife was working so for the first time I told her Iwould take my son shopping for his school supplies. So along with a list of things that the school sent us my son and I headed out to the store.Who knew that you neeeded so much for school? In the days that I went to school you bought a note book a couple of pens and pencils and you were all set.I look at the list and see that he needs a different binder for each subject that he has. Then we needed different color pens, pencils, markers, book covers ,a calulator,a ruler some white out ( i told him he shouldnt need white out because he shouldnt make mistakes)..There were other items on the list that I know I forgot...The bottom line is that I spent well over one hundred dollars just on supplies...I miss the good old days...Have a good weekend ..

Here is a good one,
This was on the news this morning.MADD or Mothers Against Drunk Driving are fight a petition called the Amethyst Initiative ,singed by college presidents who want to let undergrads by liquor starting at the age of 18 instead of 21.MADD has launched its own pledge in support of keeping the drinking age at 21 saying that numerous studies link underage drinking with higher rates of injury, brain damage and alcohol abuse..Now that I am a parent of a teenager I would be against the lowering of the drinking age.....Any thoughts?

Last week was just a great week to be off. Then again any week is a good week to be off. On Monday we took a trip the Maritime Aquarium and we saw the Great White Alligator and many of the other exhibits. Then we strolled into Sono for a nice lunch...The rest of the week was filled with golf ,yard work and just hanging out with the kids.On friday my wife asked me if I was ready to get back to work?I was ready! I love this job so much that I wanted to be back with my radio family..So it was great to be off but I am glad to be back.

Hey There,
I heard the news this morning on my way to the radio station. After all the issues in Greenbay Brett Favre is now on the New York Jets. Most of the Jet fans are very happy.Do you think Brett will help the Jets in their quest for the Super Bowl.
See you tonight at ALIVE@5

This time of the year is great if you love garden grown tomatoes and veggies.I have a few cherry tomato plants that we have been picking daily for our salads.I also have some pepper plants which are growing very nice.I only have a few plants ,every year I say that i would like a big garden but I always chicken out.My sister and her husband have a huge garden in which they grow tomoatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers and a bunch of other items.Besides being good for you the taste of fresh produce cant match anything bought in the store. My favorite of all is the locally grown corn.Over the years we have headed towards the New Milford area for the sweetest tasting corn we ever had.Do you like the locally homegrown produce and if so where do you get them from? Can I get good corn on the cob without going way up north?
Have good day
